This year has been a very interesting one. It was my first time being a sub-homeroom teacher for a high school 3rd year class. It was very challenging to take on this duty, but I think I got along well with my homeroom class. I look forward to meeting my new homeroom students next year.
The high school 3rd year students have been taking university entrance exams, so they are no longer coming to school for lessons. I miss talking to them, but I am always hearing news of them passing their entrance exams. I feel very proud of them.
This year was the first time I managed a selective class for English conversation. There were only four students in this class, but I feel that over the year, their speaking confidence improved greatly. I have been focusing on improving all students’ listening and reading skills. Every class that I teach begins with a listening test. I feel that all the students have improved their listening after all this practice.
The 表象文化研究部 club, that I am a part of, has also been busy this year. We had a great trip to Kyoto in Summer. I also guided the club around a contemporary art exhibition in Roppongi. We plan to go to one more exhibition before the end of the school year.
